| Description | Over one hundred artists and musicians were researched for possible inclusion in the Her Noise program. Through the tracings of submitted and requested proposals from and by practitioners can be grasped the extent of the networks that both came into play during, and which developed forth from this process. Artists submitted biographies, portfolios and proposals through word of mouth, from suggestions from fellow artists and upon request. The Her Noise Artists folder (HN/____), compiled
predominantly by Lina Dzuverovic, contains interviews, letters, pages from books, various proposals and installation specifications, press clippings, cover letters, artist statements, manifestos and introductions from a wide variety of women predominantly from Europe and the USA. In addition to this grouping, many artists submitted their portfolios, proposals, images, sounds and audiovisual materials, all of which are included. This sub-series represents a vast amount of information and creativity from many well known and lesser known women all working in a professional capacity as artists. The wealth of information that was collected and the many diverse concepts, stories and methodologies of all the different artists offers a rhizomatic seam through which the imaginations of many women can be sewn. Included are works from Susan
Phillipsz, Lydia Lunch, Marina Rosenfeld and Melanie Clifford among others. |
