DescriptionLarge scrapbook with a cover consisting of 3 black and white photographs of Joy Cuff in the studio working on Thunderbirds puppet heads, Sep 1964. The contents were created and collected to document Joy's personally commissioned works, and the anticipation and reaction to the release of Thunderbirds.
Inside, a newspaper press cutting from the Sunday Observer 21 Mar 1965 discusses the making of the puppets and the special effects of Stingray, and anticipates the airing of Thunderbirds. Assorted press cuttings, Oct 1965, introduce Thunderbirds and its characters. An article from the Daily Mail 4 Oct 1965 discusses the reaction to the airing of the first episode, special effects, and filming.
Newspaper press cuttings including Reveille 10 Jun 1965, and Daily Express Thursday 2 Sep 1965 discuss the success of the show, the cost of production, and the creators Sylvia and Gerry Anderson.
Blank pages follow. Several pages show signs of previous items being stuck down, which are now absent, dates noted as Nov 1965, and December 1965.
