DescriptionThe subseries contains a memorandum. a press release, film production report and notes on 'Making the Most of Our Resources'.

[In 1958 Dickinson made Overture, a film that used music and image to illustrate the suffering of famine and war, as well as efforts to deal with these afflictions. The film uses Beethoven's 'Egmont Overture' with accompanying scenes put together by the director and editor, with Dickinson's help. It was intended that a film like this should break through cultural and language differences, and be less prone to receive criticism. The film was directed by Gian Luigi Polidoro and edited by Krishna Singh, with Dickinson in charge of production.]

[For a description of the film see Philip Horne and Peter Swaab's book, 'Thorold Dickinson: A world of film', Manchester: Manchester University Press, 2008, p. 279.]
