TitleSheers and Hammid Reports on Tour April - July 1959
DescriptionContains reports written by Alexander Hammid and Jay Sheers during a tour of Asia and Africa, sent to Dickinson, and Miss Patricia Hartwell and Miss Sue Burnett of UNICEF in 1959, giving details of the experiences the authors had in each place, information about various cities and districts, and what they observed, for example, the living conditions of local communities. The purpose of these visits was to assess the suitability of each place for making films for the Unitied Nations.

The reports were sent from the following: Athens; Lalamusa, Pakistan; New Delhi, India; Hyderabad, capital of Andhra Pradesh; Bangalore-Mysore area; Cairo; Nairobi, Kenya, with a suggested shot list for Nairobi and the Kitui district in Kenya; Lahore, Pakistan; Sirs-el-Layan, Egypt; Saigon, Vietnam; Kenya; Aarey Milk Coloney, near Bombay; Karachi, Pakistan; Lalukhet and Lyari, Karachi; Thal; Gujranwala; Punjabi villages near Chandigarh; Burma; and, Chingmai, Thailand.
