The report gives Dickinson's general observations and experiences whilst travelling through India, through cities such as Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay [now Mumbai], New Delhi, Lahore, Dipalpur, Conjeeveram [Kanchipuram], Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Jaipur, Benares [commonly known as Varanasi], and the Himalayan mountain range.
The report includes Dickinson's observations on the way of life in each city, the scenery, places of interest, such as the museum of the Royal Palace in Jaipur, difficulties he met with on his travels, such as being bit by a dog, encounters with officials, the press, and people in the theatre and film industry, Indian music and dance, and Indian producers concerns over the western film industry surpassing India's capabilities, and several ideas for making films. Within the report, Dickinson also types out a letter sent to him from Sir Mirza [Muhammed] Ismail, at that time the Prime Minister of Jaipur. encouraging Dickinson to film in Jaipur, and Dickinson also writes about the Royal Indian Navy mutiny [also known as the Bombay Mutiny] which took place 18 Feb 1946, quoting a letter he wrote to Margaret Marshall about the mutiny and rioting.
